Jung The Total Lunar Eclipse this week promises a consciousness shakedown. During the Full Moon on Wednesday night, the reflected light of the Sun will be blocked by the Earth, creating the illusion of the Moon "darkening" as it turns a deep red-brown. The play of "light" and "dark" is highlighted at each Full Moon. With a Total Lunar Eclipse the effect goes quantum. The cosmic energies transmitted through this portal offer a unique opportunity to see another side of your self, embrace and transform the shadow. Emotional cleansing triggered by the eclipse can bring balance and restore the self to wholeness. Flow with this energy rather than resist it. Explore the subconscious. Dance with the shadow. In Buddhist tradition, eclipses are honored as high holy days with prayer, meditation and ceremony. Through this portal, our thoughts are amplified exponentially throughout the Earth plane, time, space and all dimensions. Manifestation is accelerated. Especially at this time, it's very important to stay focused on your intent and keep your thoughts positive. Full Moon Lunar Eclipse (Total) - February 20/21 7:34 PM EST February 20-1:17 AM February 21 (maximum eclipse 10:26 PM EST February 20) 12:34-6:17 AM GMT February 21 (maximum eclipse 3:26 AM GMT February 21) A total eclipse of the Moon occurs during the night of Wednesday, February 20/21, 2008. It's the last Total Lunar Eclipse until December 2010. Nearly a billion people in the Western Hemisphere, more than 1.5 billion in Europe and Africa, and another half-billion in western Asia will be able to view this eclipse, weather permitting. You don't need special eye protection to view a lunar eclipse. Just watch it! This eclipse comes with a rare bonus. Saturn and the bright star Regulus will form a broad triangle with the moon's darkened disk. Saturn's position will depend somewhat on your location. Seen from North America, the ringed planet will be above and to the left of the moon's center at mid-totality (10:26 PM EST on February 20). At the same time, Regulus will sit just above and to the right of the moon. Lunations, especially eclipses, deal with opposites and seeming duality, enticing us to integrate opposing energies and find a balance within. Both the Pisces/Virgo and Aquarius/Leo polarities are highlighted in this eclipse. The Sun in Pisces opposes the Moon and Saturn in Virgo, highlighting the importance of spiritual evolution and divine service. The nodal axis in Leo/Aquarius is strengthened by Venus, Mercury, Chiron and Neptune in Aquarius. The needs of the collective outweigh the desires of the individual.
